He whose arrows rain poison on liars

Maponos as a hunter

Maponos, Great God, you are Truth. You, whose arrows rain poison on liars and thieves. You, whose silver tongue was spun from the crotta of Ogmios. You who hunts the evasive Old King. I ask for your arrows once again to expose the hidden truths and strip the masks like bark on a rotting birch.

Petition to Maponos from February

Content warning for illustrated body horror (disembowelment), please continue at your own discretion.

I performed a banishing of attachments and negative energy in the bath.

I called upon Carnonos (Cernunnos), Maponos, and Cunomaglos to assist.

My invocation consisted of hand gestures, spoken word, and breathing exercises.

I felt Maponos’ presence as the energy swelled. He gently pushed me back into the waters.

And so I bathed in his healing waters.

I scanned my energy afterward, in my room.

I imagine it like a scanner, a beam of light traversing my body.

It jams at my shins.

I banish the negative energy by visualizing a harsh, white light. The energies fade away.

But when it reaches my abdomen, the skin splits open. Inside are my organs, soil, and worms.

Maponos sat beside me with his blackbirds.

They eat the worms and disperse the soil while Maponos plays the lyre.

After about 20 minutes, the SuleuiĆ¢s (Suleviae) appear.

They stitch me back up…

…and I am cleansed.

I’ve had this in drafts for a bit but have been taking a break from my laptop. Maponos and Cunomaglos have been more present lately. I am feeling their healing aspects much more strongly, whereas last year around this time, we were more focused on unraveling threads in the underworld. The part of Antumnos/Annwn which is beneath.

Right now, I am only working in monochrome. And unplanned. Pen sketches with some ink. I am putting my trust in the Gods – the hunters who walk between worlds, to teach me how to properly draw from the Well.
